    Script:

Second seed Juan Monaco faced Tobias Kamke of Germany for a place in the Mercedes Cup quarter-finals, on Thursday the 12th of July.

The Argentine was in impressive form, winning 67 percent of his service points as Kamke struggled to keep pace with him.
Monaco closed out a clinical 6-2, 6-3 win to reach the final eight of the tournament.

Third seed Bernard Tomic, faced Thomaz Bellucci in his match.

Currently ranked 64th in the world, Bellucci edged a tight first set winning 7-6 - despite trailing 4 games to 1 early on.

Bellucci took that momentum into the second set winning 7-6, 6-3 overall. The win also taking him to the last 8 of the competition.

Tommy Haas was another high profile casualty of the day.

The German, seeded eighth, lost in straight sets to Pavol Cervenak of Slovakia.

Cedrik-Marcel Stebe, recovered from losing the opening set and broke serve four times to overcome France's Jeremy Chardy 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 to also take a spot in the quarter finals.
