Kavcic and Berlocq make Croatia second round

    Blaz Kavcic of Slovenia and fifth seed Carlos Berlocq of Argentina progressed to the second round of the 2012 Croatia Open in Umag on Tuesday.

    Kavcic handed a 6-2, 6-2 win to Croatia's Antonio Veic and Berlocq completed a 6-4, 6-0 win over another local favourite, Ivan Dodig.

    The first round of the Croatia Open continued in Umag, Croatia on Tuesday.

    The Slovenian found little resistance against Croatian local favourite, Kavcic closing out a 6-2, 6-2 win to progress easily to the next round.

    Another Croatian, Ivan Dodig, was in action later in the day.

    But he wasn't able to keep up with fifth-seed Carlos Berlocq in the first set, the Argentine taking it 6-4.

    Dodig never recovered and succumbed to a crushing defeat, losing the match 6-4, 6-0.
