Iraqi boxer Ahmed Abdulkareem spoke of his determination on Saturday to win a medal at the 2012 Olympics having qualified for the London games.

20-year-old Ahmed Abdulkareem is the only Iraqi boxer to have qualified for the London 2012 Games.

Ahmed sealed his place for the London Games after he qualified via the Asian championships in Kazakhstan.

The 20 year old began his boxing career in 2003 when he was just 11-years-old and says that reaching the Olympics is dream come true.

"My dream was to qualify to the London Games, and now the dream come through, so I hope to win a medal. And I hope to see the Iraqi flag in the sky of London."

The mens weightlifting begins on July the 29th.
