    Sandra Changkija birdied six of her final eight holes for a career-best 8-under 63 and a three-stroke lead on Thursday (21 June) during the suspended first round of the inaugural Manulife Financial LPGA Classic.

    Play was suspended because of the threat of lightning in the area, and called off for the rest of the day. Seventy-two players were unable to finish the round.

    America's Lexi Thompson and Paula Creamer were both two-under par through 12 holes on Thursday in the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic at Waterloo in the Canadian state of Ontario.

    Suzann Pettersen, Angela Stanford, Karin Sjodin and Lacey Agnew shot four-under par 67s. Pettersen tied for second last week in the LPGA Championship.

    Sweden's Anna Nordqvist was five-under with five holes left to play.

    China's Shanshan Feng, coming off a major victory two weeks ago in the LPGA Championship, shot a 66.

    Sandra Changkija, making her eighth start in her rookie season, parred her first six holes after beginning play on hole number ten, and then birdied the 16th and 18th.

    Coming back she birdied six of her final eight holes for a career-best 8-under 63 and a three-stroke lead before play was suspended due to a lightning storm.
