The fourth International Final Qualifying event for this year's Open Championship took place on Monday at the Gleneagles Country Club near Dallas, in Texas.

78 players battled it out over 36 holes for one of eight places available for this year's Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St Annes.

Leading the field though after Round 1 of 2 was PGA Tour rookie Harris English on 10 under par.

Nick O'Hern, did well on a 5 under par first round of 65.

And it wasn't long before Canadian Stephen Ames joined him.

Shoot a final round of 61 to secure his Open berth.

Elsewhere, 9 under par seemed to be the score to shoot.

But it wasn't to be for Bob Estes,

However England's Greg Owen secured his place with a final round 61.

And English is delighted to have made it through.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Harris English, International Final Qualifying (IFQ) America winner:
"I'm looking forward to it. I've been wanting to play in that for many years and watched it on tv when I was growing up. And I got the chance to play the Walker Cup over in Scotland last year, and I'm just really looking forward to the Open."

Royal Lytham & St Annes will host the year's third major from 19-22 July.
