Former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world Lennox Lewis was on hand to take a look at the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation project Street League in central London on Wednesday.

Lewis was invited along as a supporter of the project, which is designed to help those people who have left education, who are not involved in vocational training or who do not have work.

In between his participation in a five-a-side match Lennox took time out to discuss the state of the heavyweight boxing division, which is currently at a low ebb.

Lewis believes the heavyweight division is in a stage of transition at the minute and hopes the next superstar is around the corner.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Lennox Lewis, former world heavyweight champion:

"I think it's in a rebuilding stage right now, and you know, we're waiting for that next superstar to shine and come out."

Lewis also discussed the upcoming London Olympics and says he expects the Games to have a big impact on the capital city.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Lennox Lewis, former world heavyweight champion:

"London doesn't realise what's really coming. I've been to two Olympics and I understand how powerful the Olympics is and how it's going to affect the people here. They're going to be excited, it's going to be stinging."

As a former Olympic gold medallist Lewis is sure to have one eye on the boxing and in particular the heavyweight fighters as the sport awaits someone who can fill the void left by 'The Lion' eight years on from his retirement.
