Donaldson and Foster were two-under-par and two shots off the lead, with Scott one shot further adrift.

"Yes, it's tough. There's mainly crosswinds, a lot of crosswinds. You're always trying to shape the ball one way or another into the wind to try and hold it. Otherwise if it goes on it you lose control and it's quite difficult but overall it's a tough day."

"The wind is dominating the day. It's blowing the ball everywhere. You can see the scoring. There's a lot of scratching heads but I played in a good group and we managed to get a couple of good scores, me and Jamie (Donaldson) and control the ball but the wind is, it's pretty perilous out there."

"Well early on, especially teeing off my first couple of holes was so cold, I mean really no feeling in the fingers and that's tough, especially when the wind is blowing hard, the ball's not going far and hit a poor shot straight into the water into the tenth, my first, and off to a bad start. But hung in there and played some good golf. I kept it in the fairway a lot after that so that gave me opportunities on some holes to have a good look at hitting it in there close and a few were good shots that I took advantage of and then I scrambled the rest of the day. It's tough in the wind."
