Karin Sjodin overcame a suspected dislocated rib to move into a share of the lead in the Kraft Nabisco Championship in California.

The Swede, ranked 216th in the world, shot a four-under-par 68 to sit alongside overnight leader and world number one Yani Tseng on nine under.

Heavy winds played havoc on Saturday's afternoon action of the third round of the Kraft Nabisco Championship at Mission Hills.

However it didn't seem to bother Na Yeon Choi - at least on the par-three, fifth hole. Choi sent her iron into the air and the wind helped carry it right to the cup for a hole-in-one. The South Korean came in with a 71 to remain in contention at eight under par.

Karin Sjodin nearly had an ace of her own. Her drive off the tee of the par-three, 173 yard eighth hole rode true through the wind and rolled to within a foot of the flag. The Swede tapped in for her third birdie of the day and moved to eight under par - just two stroke behind the leader, Yani Tseng.

Tseng, the top ranked golfer in the world, struggled on Saturday. The Taiwanese 23 year old lost the two-stroke lead she started the round with thanks to four bogeys over the course of the day. She bogeyed the 11th and 13th holes to fall to par on the day and eight under overall. Tseng would rebound with a birdie on the par-three 14th.

That left her alone in first but not for long. Karin Sjodin pulled even with the superstar at nine under par by firing home this putt on the 16th. The Swede parred her final two to come in with a 68.

Tseng bogeyed her 15th hole to fall one stroke behind Sjodin but made it up with a beautiful six-iron shot off the tee of the par-three 17th. The ensuing birdie allowed Tseng to come in with a 71.

Tseng has won the last two tournaments and three of five so far this season.
