Dalglish wants derby day reaction

Tuesday, March 13 2012 by SNTV

  • Intro:

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish wants his side to arrest a slump in their league form when they face city rivals Everton at Anfield on Tuesday (13th March).

A 1-0 reverse at Sunderland on Saturday was Liverpool's third successive defeat in the English Premier League - which leaves them in seventh position ten points off fourth spot.

(On three League defeats in a row):

"It depends what teams you are playing - but certainly it is not a record you expect from Liverpool but as I say we will just keep going in the way what we've done. What we've done has got us as far as we have done - we don't want to get into the habit of losing games. For us in between the losses we've had a Carling Cup victory as well. We've got a big game tomorrow night and everybody is looking forward to it and we know how much it means to everyone."

(On David Moyes being at Everton as manager for ten years):

"Ten seems to be a good number for Moysie this week - it's ten years since he has gone there and he has done a fantastic job and ten games this year that they are undefeated as you said. So, they've done very well - I think the city of Liverpool can be very proud of both clubs because I think they represent the city very well and they represent their respective clubs very well. It's a big game and it's something that both red and blue are looking forward to. Maybe if Everton are undefeated in ten then, as you said, they are looking forward to it you might think a wee bit optimistic before we played them at Goodison. But we will just take it as it comes and form has never won a game in a derby, other than what happens on the day."
