Officials of Barcelona and Argentinian Clausura leaders Boca Juniors signed an agreement in the Argentinian capital, Buenos Aires, on Monday (March 5th) to work together to develop young football talent.

The Spanish club said it would be providing coaching expertise from its 'La Candela' coaching project, and in exchange will have the first priority in signing players from the famous Argentine club.

Boca Juniors are giants of Argentine football - a club famed for their production of young superstars.

And a new deal with European and World Champions Barcelona could make them even better.

The clubs signed a historic partnership in the formation of youth players.

This is an strategic alliance that will link the two clubs in the important work of training young players.

Essentially Barcelona will have priority over those future transfers of young players who represented the Catalan club in Argentina, whilst Boca will have access to the human resources structure and Barcelona coaches in order to transmit the whole philosophy of The Farm - Barca's notoriously successful youth academy.

Jordi Mestre, chief executive of the FC Barcelona soccer training thinks youth development should not be monopolised. He said:

"It's a pleasure to share our know how, with a club like Boca Juniors that is a reference not only in Argentina but also throughout the world. For us it is very important that the model we have been working so long can be used by clubs such as Boca."

Meanwhile General Coordinator of Child and Youth Soccer Boca Juniors, Jorge Raffo, said this deal is a landmark. He said:

"I feel a huge excitement after doing a great job with Daniel, Jordi and people of both clubs. We have reached an unique agreement between two clubs that are high-end and we marked a milestone in the formation of youth."

If all goes to plan, Boca and Barcelona will be praying their allegiance will help unearth a hidden gem similar to this young man - three time World Player of the Year Lionel Messi.
