  • Intro:

Arsene Wenger and Harry Redknapp give their reactions to Arsenal's stunning 5-2 win over Tottenham in the north London derby.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager:

(Q:Can you finish above Tottenham in the league this season?)

"It is still possible if we keep our run going, yes of course, why not? But you know as much before the game it was impossible, I always said that before the game that it is possible. It will be down to consistency because everybody in the Premier League now can lose points so it is (that way) since the start of the season. They have difficult schedule, we have a difficult schedule but if we continue to play like that, why not?"

SOUNDBITE: (English) Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager:

(On packing the midfield to stop Arsenal playing)

"In my opinion he made the right decision to try to stop us from playing in midfield, dominating the midfield, but it didn't stop us. I felt we were technically faster, superior in our passing."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Harry Redknapp, Tottenham Hotspur manager:

(Q: Were you feeling confident when you were leading 2-0?)

"I didn't feel comfortable to be honest at 2-0, they were creating chances at 2-0. To be fair when they got back to 2-2 they had a great opportunity to go 3-2 up right on half-time. So I wasn't exactly sitting there feeling comfortable even at two nil, I felt we were hitting them on the break, on the counter attack. We were camping deeply in our half and they were making opportunities, so certainly at 2-0 I didn't feel comfortable and at 2-2 I felt even less comfortable. So the momentum was with them at half-time, they came off the pitch to a standing ovation and you knew it was going to be very tough in the second half."

(English) Harry Redknapp, Tottenham Hotspur manager:

(Theo Walcott got stick from the home fans at the start of the game and then he got a standing ovation as he came off the pitch after scoring two goals. What do you make of it?)

"Well that is football isn't it. That's football, people are fickle, but he's a good player, he's a player with real talent. I gave him his debut, you know, as a kid at 17, he is a fantastic talent I think. His run for the third goal was, was it the third goal? I lost track of the goals, when Bale lost it down in the right corner and he's run eighty yards to get on the end of the pass and score, you know, but he's a good player."
