  • Intro:

The American duo of Katie Futcher and Angelo Stanford. Along with South Korea's nineteen-year-old prodigy Jenny Shin, all shot one-under rounds of 71 to stay tied for the lead at nine under, after three rounds of the HSBC Women's Champions tournament in Singapore on Saturday (25 February).

The three will however, be wary of world number one Yani Tseng of Taiwan, who charged up the leader board having shot the best round of the day, a five under 67, to lie just three shots behind the leaders.

China's Shanshan Fang sits alone in fourth at seven under for the tournament.

Hot and steamy conditions greeted the players ahead of the third round of the HSBC Women's Champions tournament at the Tanah Merah Country Club in Singapore.

As expected, the world number one Yani Tseng of Taiwan made her move - carding a five under 67, the best round of the day.

Yani began the day tied for 20th at one under, and was one of the biggest movers as she finished tied for fifth on six under ahead of the final round.

South Korean world number three Na Yeon Choi, fondly known as NYC, enjoyed a moment of brilliance with this put at 18th - to move to 6 under as well.

China's Shanshan Fang stayed in the hunt with a round of three under 69.

After playing a decent approach on the 17th hole,, Fang almost became only the second player to birdie the toughest hole on the course - but she had to settle for par as she finished on seven under.

American Angela Stanford started the day with a bogey but refound her composure two birdies, including this one on the 9th hole, to sign for a one under 71 for nine under for the tournament.

Her compatriot and playing partner Katie Futcher was equally impressive on the 9th - this brilliant approach setting up a birdie for Texan.

Futcher also carded 71 and is tied at the top with her compatriot Stanford.

Nineteen year old Jenny Shin of South Korea was the most impressive of the three leaders - the pint-sized golfer, who left South Korea for Los Angeles at the age of nine, was superb at the par three 11th setting up her first birdie of the day.

Another brilliant approach on the 18th ensured she matched the Americans with a 71 and was right up their going toe-to-toe with her senior pros ahead of the final round
