At a promotional event in California on Thursday, Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois talked about the changes that new manager Antonio Conte has already instigated.

Q - Tell me about your new manager. Is he working you hard?
"Yeah, we work hard. I think he wants us physically at our best. He wants us technically to know how to play. So obviously we have a lot of technical training as well. That is good because obviously when you have a new manager you have to adapt to his way of playing. And obviously after a few years of having Jose Mourinho who has a different way of playing, you need to adapt, and that is what we are doing now."

"Well obviously when Mourinho played 4-2-3 and now we play 4-2-4, so that is a really big difference. The other difference I think ... (Antonio) Conte works hard on physically and tactical aspect more than other managers do."

"Last season, we were in trouble. But this season we just try to be ready for first game and don't make the same mistake as last season."
