Monday, May 30 2016 by SNTV
  • Zinedine Zidane reacts after Real Madrid beat Atletico Madrid on penalties in UEFA Champions League final at the San Siro in Milan, Italy on Saturday (28th May).

SOUNDBITE: (Spanish) Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid head coach (Q: You've been the winner of the competition as a player, assistant coach and now head coach, if you'd said in December you probably wouldn't have dreamt of that?)

"I have dreamt it. I am very positive, you know when they give you the opportunity, the president has given me this opportunity to coach this great club. Well I suppose since I have a very positive attitude and I have a group of players that is fantastic, working very hard, well that's what has happened. We've fought, we've worked hard and when you've got players of this calibre, so much talent, you can really achieve something big like we've managed to do tonight."

SOUNDBITE: (Spanish) Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid head coach (Q: Was Ronaldo injured?)

"No he wasn't injured. What happens is that he was there as are the other players and he has given us the victory. So no he wasn't injured, he's was ok. He fought it out, he's run a lot, as everyone else and he's always very positive. He's always helped his teammates and that's it really. In the end we spoke a bit on the pitch, only on the position he was going to occupy when he was taking his penalty kick, but that was the only thing that we discussed, that's all, so happy."
