A new chapter for Carter

Thursday, March 03 2016 by SNTV
  • All Blacks great Dan Carter added the latest chapter to his career as his new fans flocked to a book-signing session in a Parisian shopping centre on - 'The Autobiography of an All Blacks Legend' book title speaks volumes, as the mercurial number 10 now plies his trade with Racing Metro in France.

SOUNDBITE (English) Dan Carter, Former New Zealand fly-half (on writing a book):

"Yeah it was good, I mean writing a book was an amazing process. I started 12 months before the World Cup and then I had a lot of injuries and I wasn't even sure if I was going to be selected for the World Cup. I finished my last interview with the author Duncan (Greive) was four hours after the final of the Rugby World Cup. It was a dream way to finish my career and a dream way to finish the book as well. It was a great journey and it's obviously onto the new challenge here in France which I'm enjoying as well."

SOUNDBITE (English) Dan Carter, Former New Zealand fly-half (asked if he is looking forward to watching the All Blacks Tests after retirement):

"Yeah, it will be a bit unusual actually. I still feel like it's the right decision to retire from international rugby but once the All Black test matches start up again in June, it's going to be pretty difficult to sit back and watch knowing that I'm not able to play for them anymore. But I'm going to be their number one supporter moving forward, so I'm excited for the international season."
