  • Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren was left dejected after Chelsea hammered his side 5-1 at Stamford Bridge in the English Premier League on Saturday.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Steve McClaren, Newcastle Manager:

"It is very difficult...3-0 down after fifteen minutes...to come back from that and you have got to say do we go for it or do we not? I think at half time we said we would go for it in the first ten or fifteen minutes - which we did. Then obviously, the fourth goal really killed us and that's what can happen when you come here. And you can reflect on that and know that in terms of how we start games needs to be better when we are away from home."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Steve McClaren, Newcastle Manager:

"I'm not particularly upbeat about this result or performance - or evening, at all. I am just determined and can't wait to get back 18 days (rest) and we have got 12 games to go and make sure I am upbeat about what we have got in the dressing room, what they have shown and what they are capable of doing. 12 games to and we need to show that."
