Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink said on Friday (5th February) that Alexandre Pato would not be fit enough to take part in the "upcoming few games", ahead of the English Premier League clash with Manchester United.
SOUNDBITE: (English) Guus Hiddink, Chelsea interim manager (on John Terry after being told he would not be offered a new contract)
"No, I don't notice any change because first of all he is a very experienced player. He has gone through all good things and storms in football which means that he is very experienced so you don't notice a difference in John. He likes to train and he is having his laugh etcetera etcetera so I don't notice any differences."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Guus Hiddink, Chelsea interim manager (on facing Manchester United):
"This is a big match. Big clubs, through the years. A big match. Both Manchester has to compete and likes to compete for the title. This year, they must go into the Champions League positions. You know the history, I don't want to go very deeply in this, the recent history of this club, of Chelsea. Of course, they have under-performed. We're getting back a bit on track although I like to have a little bit more victories instead of, let's say, the unbeaten draws. We had some victories but, I think, the team is step-by-step more stable and now we hope to go into a beautiful spring time."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Guus Hiddink, Chelsea interim manager (on Alexandre Pato):
"'Pato is in, let's say, his pre-season and we have made a plan - a training plan - which he is doing now every day at least once but most of the days twice training, which means that he is getting his fitness but not full fitness yet."
