IAAF chief Lord Coe responds to WADA report on corruption

SOUNDBITE: (English) Sebastian Coe, IAAF president (about how the WADA report was conducted)

"Well, first of all I would like to thank the independent commission for taking the time and trouble and the diligence with which they have investigated particularly the issue around Russian doping and corruption within my own organisation. It's a very detailed report. There are some very important recommendations. I am making a lot of change at the IAAF at the moment and I will, of course, absorb those recommendations in our own reform process."

"We will continue to do what I am doing which is making sure that all our corporate governances are as strong as they possibly can be, that we have even greater independence in our anti-doping systems, and that we make sure that other countries, wherever they are, that are failing in their duties towards clean athletes, we will re-double our efforts to make sure that we are providing a clean platform for clean athletes across the world."

"No other than the fact that we have a very strong sport, but that is not enough at the moment. We have to make sure all those changes we put in place slowly and gradually regain the trust of the public and I have to recognize that at the moment that we have a long way to go."
