  • American sprinter Tori Bowie reflects on her medal-winning performances at the Rio Olympics and looks ahead to the 4x100 metres relay with Team USA.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Tori Bowie, silver 100 metres and bronze 200 metres, USA:

    (on her success at Rio):

"The success that I've had at these Games, it's been an amazing feeling, although I haven't got to process it all yet. I haven't got the chance to actually enjoy it all yet. I know that moment is coming. And I think the success, more than anything, is just sending a message to, sending a message to the children, across the U.S., and especially Mississippi, where I come from. I always want to let the children know you're capable of doing anything you want to do, no matter where we come from, no matter what we've been through, our background doesn't matter anymore. You have to look forward."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Tori Bowie, silver 100m and bronze 200m, USA:

(on USA qualifying for 4x100 relay after being initially disqualified):

"Extremely excited because I thought that me achieving my goals were ruined. I come here to get three medals, and I thought 'oh my god, so now I'm going to have to leave with two.' So, then come back and like, 'be prepared to run.' So I'm just extremely excited that we have the opportunity to go out there and try to win gold."
