Leicester maintain 100% Champions Cup record

  • Leicester Tigers beat Munster 31-19 in the European Champions Cup on Saturday (12th December).

    Munster and Leicester Tigers received a rapturous reception as they emerged for to do battle in the European Champions Cup on Saturday.

    Leicester were looking to maintain their 100% start to the tournament and got of to a good start when Vereniki Goneva went over in the 33rd minute.

    And things got even better for the visitors just five minutes later when confusion in the Munster lineout enabled Owen Williams to grab a try.

    Early in the second half it was Leicester who struggled at their own lineout with James Cronin taking advantage for the hosts.

    However, Ben Youngs raced away in the 3rd minute to put Leicester back in control.

    Mike Sherry got some points back on the board for Munster with this try.

    But it was to be Leicester's day with this penalty from Williams putting the game out of reach with 10 minutes to play.

    Leicester added a few more points to claim a 31-19 victory over Munster an maintain their 100% record in the competition.
