SOUNDBITE (English) Andy Reid, Kansas City Cheifs head coach: (On the decision to fly in on Friday while the Detroit Lions came on Monday)

"If it was the pre-season I would have come over on Monday, but during the season I want to make sure we were able to sleep in our won beds and make sure we go the rehab we needed physically to get ourselves ready to go and then play here to play the game. This is an in-season game, this is a very important game for us so those are the reasons."

SOUNDBITE (English) Andy Reid, Kansas City Cheifs head coach: (On having to prepare to face a team with a brand new offensive coordinator and line coaches)

"You look at the backgrounds of the coaches, particularly the head coach and then familiarity with the coaches he's put in place. They run the same system that he came from in Indy so that's familiar territory. So you make sure you cover that and you cover what they were doing and then you go play most of all. Those are good football coaches that he let go, but good ones he put in. He was doing it for a reason - to shake things up but that's not our deal. Our responsibility is to make sure we get ready to play and that's where our focus is."

SOUNDBITE (English) Alex Smith, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback: (On the importance of getting a win heading into the bye week)

"Every week is big, every game is big and I know that, but as the weeks mount and the season goes on they are all bigger and this one is even bigger. For us to be able to get a W and go on to the bye and catch our breathe and re-examine where we are at it is big. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't. It is big for us with where we are at. We kind of dug ourselves a little hole and can't afford much slip ups."
