SOUNDBITE (English) Vern Cotter, Scotland head coach (asked if preparations have changed since Ford and Gray were suspended):

"These are things that we anticipate even though we don't like them happened, we'd rather they didn't obviously. These are situations that we're used to and prepare for. Everybody had their hands up and wants to participate - it's the quarter-final of a World Cup. There's a lot of enthusiasm from players who want to step up. We just move along and move with it. It's just the way it is."

SOUNDBITE (English) Greg Laidlaw, Scotland captain:

"Playing in the quarter-final of a World Cup. My job becomes pretty easy in terms of getting the boys up for this week. Everybody's desperate to play. We knew we'd need a squad of 31 and now it's going to come into play."

SOUNDBITE (English) Michael Cheika, Australia coach:

"By the nature of the tournament, tournament play, and where this is, and the context of the game, this will be the most difficult game we play. That's not disrespecting our other opponents at all, because every match has been tough, but this will be the toughest. There is going to be a lot of pain, it's going to be physical and I want the lads to enjoy that as well."
