SOUNDBITE (English) Vern Cotter, Scotland coach:

"I'm really proud of the boys and the way they played. It was a tough game, we were down at half-time, and they showed their character and necessary resources to come back and finish their game off. It showed, I thought when they took that scrum six or seven minutes from the end, instead of taking the three points, just how much it meant to them. They understood the importance of the situation and got the try following it. So I'm really, really happy for the group, they've worked hard to get there and I think that's phase one and we're moving to the next phase, which is a knock-out, and I think that they can start... I think, genuinely, that there were some really good things out there, and most importantly was the frame of mind to... (close out the game). We came across a Samoan team that we hadn't seen this World Cup and they were impressive and we had to change the way we played. We adapted and got there in the end, so I'm really, really happy."

SOUNDBITE (English) Stephen Betham, Samoa coach:
(Question - You said your team had one big performance in them. This was it, it just wasn't quite enough was it?)

"Yes, exactly. Credit to the boys. They played right up until the 80th minute, and that was a sign that we gave it everything. I'd just like to take my hat off to them for giving that effort right up until the end. But, you know, the road's finished for us now and we've got to look forward."
