"The pleasing aspect is in the manner we've reacted, the way that we perform. Tactically, I was extremely, extremely proud of the players . "I think the hold-up play from Rom (Lukaku) today was the strongest we've had in an Everton shirt and that allowed us then to ... I felt that he locked the three centre-halves, we could play around him. Steven Naismith got real good movement, Ross (Barkley) had a lot of time on the ball and everything came from having Rom with a very strong back to play and having a wide player like Aaron Lennon in the last part of the game and Gerard Deulofeu. I thought Gerard Deulofeu's performance was outstanding in the way that he gave everything that he had to do for the team, the executions of his actions was very unfortunate and on another day probably he could have been the real difference."
