Manuel Pellegrini's hopes of fielding key midfielders David Silva and Yaya Toure appeared to receive a boost on Tuesday as both players took part in training.

Toure had been pulled off the pitch in the recent 4-1 defeat against Tottenham beause of injury. And Silva has missed the last 3 games, as well as right-back Zabaleta.

With many key players in recovery, incuding Wilfried Bony and Fabian Delph, the biggest blow to the team has been the absense of captain Vincent Kompany.

Defence is struggling without him, they've conceded 8 goals compared to just the one when he had been in play.

Both Borussia and Man City are looking to secure their first win of their Champions League campaign.

Borussia was thrased by Seville and Man City recently lost 2-1 to Juventus.

The Blue need to reset the early pace here. They have proved they are capable, winning the first 5 Premier League matches this season.

A win against Borussia is crucial for them to get back on track, and with key players back on the field, they may be in for a victory.
