  • Post match reaction from Ireland's 44-10 rugby world cup victory over Romania

SOUNDBITE: (English) Jamie Heaslip, Ireland captain against Romania

(on playing in front of a Rugby World Cup record crowd of 89,267, mostly Irish, fans):

"Their energy kind of bleeds through into the squad and especially when you're kind of digging deep and the ball's in play for, a good few minutes and you're blowing (breathing) hard, they really do pick you up

(English) Jamie Heaslip, Ireland captain against Romania (on playing in front of a Rugby World Cup record crowd of 89,267, mostly Irish, fans):

"I thought last week was loud, this week was unbelievable and it's, the support is, is blowing the squad away to be honest."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Joe Schmidt, Ireland head coach

(on full back Rob Kearney, who picked up an injury while scoring a try moments after coming off the replacements' bench):

"Rob was.... involved in a high-speed, play immediately after coming on to the pitch and just in scoring the try he's just jarred himself up a little bit. We'd be hopeful it's not too much, but we.... I guess the next 24 to 48 hours will tell whether, he's done anything that will be telling for next week."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Joe Schmidt, Ireland head coach (on Ireland's final Pool D game against France and their coach Philippe Saint-Andre, who they have not lost to in their last four meetings):

"There's not much between the two teams and I think there have been two draws and maybe one score games the other times. So, they're the fine margins of test match rugby. I just hope that he (Saint-Andre) doesn't decide to change that in two weeks' time, but, they have so many quality players, they have such a strong group of players that we know that's going to be a phenomenal challenge.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Lynn Howells, Romania head coach (asked which Pool D side is better - Irelad or France):

" When you see the Irish players that didn't play against us, it was exactly the same when the French played against us. So they have the same strength in depth. I think Ireland have a more complete game than France, and I think they are better equipped to go further in the competition. But with the French you don't know."
