Saint-Andre Labels win over Romania a 'job well done'

  • Reaction following France's 38-11 victory over Romania at London's Olympic Stadium in the Rugby World Cup on Wednesday (September 23).

SOUNDBITE (English): Philippe Saint-Andre, head coach, France(How would you describe that French performance?)

"I think the job is done. We have won two games in four days. We get the bonus points. I changed 13 guys after last week. We were not enough clinical and not enough patient. We wanted to put a tempo in the game and it was quite a slow game. But in the end, we did the job that we wanted to do."

SOUNDBITE (English): Yannick Nyanga, France(Was that a tough win for you?)

"Yeah, exactly. It was a tough win because it was a tough team, the Romanian team. Congratulations to them because it was a very tough opposition. But we are very happy about the five points. It wasn't an easy game because we made 13 changes from the last game, so it was hard to start. But I think that we believe in ourselves and at the end it was good for us."

SOUNDBITE (English): Lynn Howells, head coach, Romania(How much confidence can you take from this performance?)

"I think it is a huge fillip for us. I think they (the Romanian players) know they can compete at this level. And if we cut out the mistakes and our discipline is a little bit better then I think we can show people that Romania are capable of playing a high level of rugby."
