SuggestedLeadIn: New Zealand coach Steve Hansen, fly-half Colin Slade and back row Victor Vito spoke about their upcoming Rugby World Cup match against Namibia
Script: SOUNDBITE: (English) Steve Hansen, New Zealand coach:
(on preparation for Namibia):
"We've drawn a line in the sand as far as the World Cup goes with Argentina. The group that are going out on Thursday have to change that line to a higher performance level. It doesn't matter who we're playing, that's our focus. We'll give Namibia the total respect because that's what they deserve as another playing nation. Rugby is a funny thing, sports a funny thing, as you pointed out, if you don't prepare properly then you can get a hiding."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Steve Hansen, New Zealand coach:
(on changing 12 players for the Namibia match):
"You've answered your own question there. The turnaround has forced that. You can't expect people to play a physical game like rugby and be ready four days later without paying a price for it later on. We've tried to use the whole squad, we've got a lot of confidence in the whole squad, any one of the 31 could start any of the test matches. We're comfortable doing that, but our next game is an eight day turnaround and then we drop to seven days which gives us plenty of recovery time and we can see what we'll do then."
