Script: SOUNDBITE: (English) Vern Cotter, Scotland coach:

"I'm not sure it was convincing. We managed to score points in the second half. I thought we traded blows in the first half and they could have scored a couple of times and I thought we were unlucky to score just before half time and in the second half we managed to. Managed to get over the try line to get us a bonus point, which we are very very happy with and hats off to Japan. I thought they were very difficult team to play against - deft passers of the ball. Very good at changing angles and taking weak shoulders and attacks. So we are happy, very happy to get the win. Happy to be able to pull away in the second half. Happy to get started..watching everybody else play has been very nerve-racking for the payers and especially when you see Japans performance last week against South Africa. There were a few nerves, for sure, at the start of the game and credit to Greig (Laidlaw) and the boys - they managed to keep composure even after some difficult times close to our line and come away with the win. So, yeah - happy."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Eddie Jones, Japan coach:

"Well at halftime I felt we had a realistic chance to win the game. They got in our 22 and they took the opportunities and we gave them a number of opportunities to score from. They scored at least two tries from out turnovers, intercept passes. When we got in there 22 we were not clinical enough in attack to finish so it was a game of one team taking their opportunities and the other team losing it. I thought they were quite good at the tackle today, they slowed our ball down to a large degree. Second man in the tackle was pretty good, which made it hard for us to get any momentum. As you know we are not a big team so we rely so much in the quickness of the ball. So, I thought they played very well. They were too good for us today."
