  • SuggestedLeadIn: Wales attacking coach Rob Howley and players Gethin Jones and Alun Wyn Jones on Wednesday (23rd September) spoke about their upcoming pool match against England at the Rugby World Cup.

Script: SOUNDBITE: (English) Alun Wyn Jones, Wales (on team chemistry after the loss of many squad members):

"Well it's the World Cup, the thirty men have all had an opportunity. We've played three warm-up games, we've played for almost three months so we've spent a bit of time together, played a bit of rugby together. Obviously not a lot of games but in regards to my position, there's five second rows in the squad, they've all had an opportunity, anyone could be selected. Everyone is ready to slip into the four or five role."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Gethin Jenkins, Wales (on the match against England):

"I think the fans build it up quite a lot. I suppose if you ask anyone walking down the street in Wales who they most want to beat it's England. The players know who their players are, we play against them every year, week in week out some boys. We know what a quality team they are but we just want to show what we can offer in this environment."

SOUNDBITE (English) Rob Howley, Wales attacking coach (on decision-making against England being key):

"It's going to be important come Saturday night, when we've got the ball, we respect the ball because it's going to be a big game that comes down to fine margins. The key decision-making and the accuracy under pressure is going to be probably the defining moment in the game. I think the side that masters that moment is going to be the side that wins the game."
