Reaction from head coach Warren Gatland and captain Sam Warburton after Wales lost Rhys Webb and Leigh Halfpenny to injuries in their 23-19 World Cup warm-up win over Italy on Saturday (5 September).

"Yeah, it's not great, is it? You've got to feel for them. If they are ruled out, it is a massive blow for them and disappointing for us. You've got to put that behind and work with the players you've got and build them and have the confidence going into the next game."

"It is one of those things. Players are wanting to play and unfortunately sometimes pick up injuries. We look back to the second Test in South Africa last year. Both those players weren't involved in that game, so hopefully...... Liam Williams is taking a full part in training next week, and potentially in the next 24/48 hours when we get the (scan) results back, we may have to sit down and start thinking about replacements. But until then.... we're talking about the possibilities now, but there is nothing concrete in our heads about that."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Sam Warburton, Wales captain:

"I am going to be very optimistic and hope that if it was like a ligament grade one, grade two which sometimes these things feel worse and you can rehab those and get back within three weeks. I am going to be optimistic until I hear otherwise for both the lads. But you do really worry for them when you see them down an a bit of pain on the pitch. That disrupts the players a little bit because you hope the best for them because they're your mates at the end of the day, and we really hope they are okay. It would be gutting if they are ruled out because they have put in so much effort. Both looking in fantastic shape and they are two huge players for us."
