  • Jamaican sprinter Warren Weir talks to the cameras in Beijing on the eve of the opening day of the 2015 IAAF Athletics World Championships

Script: SOUNDBITE: (English) Warren Weir, Jamaican sprinter (on his preparation for the events):

"Well, preparation for coming here are good, just recovering from the seasonal injuries, and mentally I am ready. There are a few days before the 200 metres, I think I will be ready for the 200 metres World Championship."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Warren Weir, Jamaican sprinter (comments on how he will prepare to face Usain Bolt who also races in the 200m):

"He (Usain Bolt) is never an opponent, he is a friend having fun. Not a rival and not an opponent!"

SOUNDBITE: (English) Warren Weir, Jamaican sprinter:

"Most importantly for me, everything in life, there are good and there are bad, there are the evil and there are the good. Actually, I focus on the good. I am not, don't want to judge, and I am not mostly going to talk about the bad part of the sport. He (Justine Gatlin) did his thing, he did times whatever he did, I don't want to judge and I don't want to criticise. So, I am going to focus on the good of the sport and focus on my side. I am not going there (starting line of the race) to look at anybody but myself."
