England trained on Tuesday (4th August) at their base in Bagshot, Surrey as they continue preparations for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
Recently returned from altitude training in Denver, the England Rugby team continue their World Cup preparations at their base in Bagshot, Surrey.
The tournament will open on September 18th with the host country playing Fiji. England will then take on Wales, Uruguay and Australia in Pool A, with the final will being held at the end of October at Twickenham.
While Nick Easter didn't travel to the States because of his unresolved back injury, head coach Stuart Lancaster revealed that he remains in contention for England's squad for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
Also available for selection is Danny Cipriani. The 27 year old fly-half has been re-bailed after his arrest in June on suspicion of drink driving, but since he is yet to be charged with an offence, Lancaster has confirmed that he is free to play for England.
Sam Burgess has been training as centre, and contends with Henry Slade, Kyle Eastwood and Billy Twelvetrees for a place on the global tournament. Lancaster asserts that "Without Manu Tuilagi in the midfield to take up the ball, Sam gives us an option but it is a very competitive position."
Lancaster is due to cut his 45-strong squad by 9 at the end of this week, putting pressure on the players to impress in the training sessions. The final selection must be submitted by August 31st.
England's first warm-up match against France on August 15th will be an opportunity for Lancaster to try out different combinations as the players fight to secure their place on the global tournament.
