Mexico forward Giovani dos Santos arrived at LAX on Sunday (2 August) following his transfer to LA Galaxy from Spanish side Villarreal.

The arrival of a big named Mexican football into Los Angeles proved quite the attraction for the heavily populated Hispanic region.

Giovani dos Santos perhaps surprisingly becomes the only Mexican currently on the Galaxy's roster as the 26-year-old joins from Villareal.

The former Tottenham player joins on an undisclosed fee from Spain having spent close on a decade in European football.

Galaxy become the Mexican's eighth club in a career that has since him play in the Championship - for Ipswich - and close to the Caucasus regions in Turkey.

Dos Santos will again link up with club captain Robbie Keane, whom he played with during his spell in North London.

The attacking midfielder has 90 caps for his country and has scored 17 goals.

After one season at Mallorca, Villarreal took him back to the Spanish mainland in 2013, where he scored 18 goals in 75 matches.

Dos Santos joins a side who sit third in the Western Conference.

His first game for The Galaxy could be against the Seattle Sounders on Sunday.
