Fiorentina of Italy faced French title winners Paris Saint-Germain in the International Champions Cup at Red Bull Arena in New Jersey.

Fiorentina nearly went ahead when Matias Vecino beat PSG goalkeeper Kevin Trapp with a direct free kick, but the ball struck the post in the 11th minute.

But it was PSG who broke the deadlock 10 minutes before half time. Blaise Matuidi tapping in from Gregory Van der Wie's cross to put the French side one up.

Six minutes later it was 2-0, Jean-Kevin Augustin scoring from the centre of the box with a neat finish into the bottom corner.

Fiorentina pulled one back in the second half with a superb curling effort into the top corner from Joaquin. A stunning effort that gave Trapp no chance.

But PSG regained their two-goal advantage in the 69th minute; Zlatan Ibrahimovic with a cool finish from Lucas Moura's pass.

And it was four six minutes later, Augustin netting his second goal of the game.

With 11 minutes to go Giuseppe Rossi found a consolation for Fiorentina. He put away a penalty to make it 4-2.

But Paris Saint-Germain hung on. 4-2 it finished.
