(on the Webb Ellis Cup Trophy Tour):

"I think it's really interesting because what that trophy represents is more than just something metal that you pick up, or something shiny that looks great. It's the end of a journey and it's everything you do just to be able to pick that up. So that embodies the respect, the values every hard fought moment, every blood, every sweat, every disappointing loss where you feel like giving up. Everything is wrapped up in that. At the end of the journey it's that. The journey isn't complete unless you pick that up. It's the last link in the chain. It isn't complete without that which is why it's such a special thing. I've won it and I get pretty giddy just standing next to it now and the fact I can pick it up is even better. That embodies every big player you talk about, the Kiwis, the South Africans, the Australians, the French, the Welsh, the Irish, the Scottish. Whatever it is, it's embodied it that thing. To be close to that is to be close to rugby and the values of this tournament. The more we can get that round to people the better. The more people that can near it and be inspired by it like we were and are - it's great for the game."

(on Manu Tuilagi potentially playing in France):

"The thing is, these things and rugby careers in general, everything tends to work out pretty much alright if every decision you make is about getting better at playing the game and becoming a better rugby player. If that's your job and that's your passion and what you love doing and your decision is based around improving and getting better as a player, doing more for the team, learning more about the game then it will be a good decision."
