Club Brugge recovered from a two-goal defeicit to salvage a 2-2 draw at Gent on Sunday (26th April), a result which keeps them top of the Belgian League playoff table.

The playoffs are in full swing in the Belgian Pro League, and Sunday saw a vital top of the table clash between Gent and Club Brugge at the Ghelamco Arena.

Brugge were looking to bounce back from their Europa League exit in mid-week, but they struggle early on and went a goal down after 12 minutes.

Laurent Depoitre flicked the ball on and played Danijel Milicevic through, he beat Matt Ryan with an excellent angled effort.

The home side dominated the first half and made it 2-0 just before half-time, Milicevic with his second of the afternoon.

Nicklas Pederson picked the striker out with a cutting through ball that split the Brugge defense and Milicevic finished across goal once again, this time with his left foot.

Following a brilliant first half, Gent took their foot off the accelerator in the second, content to sit on their lead.

They were made to pay for however, as Ruud Vormer swung a corner in, Oscar Duarte was left completely unmarked and took full advantage to make it 2-1 with his header.

The match headed for a tense finish, and Michel Preud'homme's side found the crucial equaliser with three minutes to go.

Sander Coopman and Jose Izquierdo combining on the right wing, the latter took his time and picked out a wide open, Claudemir who headed in to level proceedings.

That's how it ended, a vital point for Brugge which means they remain top of the standings on 38 points, two ahead of Gent.
