Kiessling almost claimed one of his own in the 49th minute but his header hit the cross.
Kyriakos Papadopoulos was there to slam the rebound into the back of the net.
Kiessling finally got on the scoresheet in the 70th minute to make it 4.
Time is running out for Stuttgart - Augsburg stormed into a seventh-minute lead through Tobias Werner.
Daniel Ginczek levelled against the run of play in the 22nd minute.
Stuttgart had chances to take the lead but were punished by Raul Bobadilla's winner in the 73rd minute.
The 2-1 defeat leaves them in the relegation zone with just five games to go.
