Leaders Beijing Guoan travelled south to play third-placed Shanghai SIPG in the Chinese Super League on Sunday.

Shanghai coach Sven Goran Eriksson was looking for a win on home turf that would propel his team to top of the table and three point lead over Beijjing.

But it was the visitors who created the first chance - Dejan Damjanovic almost gave his team the lead in the tenth minute but his sweeping attempt from close range deflected off Shanghai goal keeper Yan Junling's trailing leg before bouncing back into play.

The hosts took the lead in the 15th minute after Wang Shenchao swung in a superb cross from the near side to find Swedish striker Tobias Hysen, who scored with a neat low header.

Beijing pressed in the second half and their efforts finally paid off in the twelve minutes from time - Pablo Batalla sending a quick low pass to substitute Erton Fejzullahu, who swept home from inside the area.

That made it 1-1 - a result that brought a smile to Beijing Guoan coach Gregorio Manzano as his team stays on top.
