Rachid El Morabity and Elizabeth Barnes followed up first stage wins by crossing first on day two of the Marathon des Sables in Morocco.

The second stage of the Marathon des Sables provided another gruelling test for runners with a 31-kilometre trek across the Sahara.

This is known as the toughest foot race on Earth, it's in its 30th year now but there is never a shortage of those willing to put themselves through it. 1,300 people are taking part this year but the heat, rocks and steep climbs soon separate the field.

Salameh Al Aqra and Abdelkader El Mouaziz were among the elite. But you might be able to see that spec in front of them.

Leader Rachid El Morabity, looking for his third title here extended his overall lead by crossing first...

Elizabeth Barnes was the fastest of the women in the first leg and she followed that up with another stage win here.

You can imagine how good this shower felt... but that's only two of the six done.
