SOUNDBITE: (English) Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager:

"It's a big game and an opportunity for us to continue our run, that's what we want to do. We're on a strong run and we want just to focus to win our games, win the next one...and Liverpool is a big opponent, but we play at the Emirates and we want to do it (win)."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager:

Q: Do you still aspire to win the league?

"Look, we have the aspiration to win the next game and that's quite good enough. And after that, win the next one."

Q: You're not ruling it out though, as it's still mathematically possible?

"Mathematically? What is mathematically possible (is) you have to try to achieve, but that doesn't depend only on us. What does depend on us in the final run is our performances and our results, so let's focus on that. After that, if everything goes for us, you never know, but we can only master our own performances so let's focus on that and be realistic and continue to earn the right to win the games. That's what we want."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager:

Q: After the incident where Mesut Oezil was seen socialising in his native Germany after missing the Newcastle game due to illness, are you going soft on disciplining players?
"I'm not going soft on discipline, but I fine people when they work for us and don't respect the discipline. And on that front I feel you cannot stop anybody from wishing happy birthday to a friend when he's in his own country."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager:

on rumours that Liverpool player Raheem Sterling is stalling on signing a new contract and could sign for Arsenal.

"I don't want to interfere in that, especially 48 hours before a game like that, that's down to Liverpool cuisine, you know, and I don't want to interfere with that, it's not my problem."
