Shock Bayern defeat after Neuer mistake

  • Intro:

Bayern Munich's six-game winning run came to an end with a 2-0 loss against Borussia Moenchengladbach after Wolfsburg had been held to a 1-1 draw at Mainz.

    Script:

Bayern Munich had not lost at home in the Bundesliga since last April much of that run was down to their goalkeeper Manuel Neuer but Borussia Moenchengladbach's opener reminded everyone that he is human.Raffael benefiting from that but was probably not one of those he knew was in as soon as it left his boot.

Andre Hahn might have had that feeling here but Neuer was equal to it.Worrying signs though for Pep Guardiola's side and Gladbach would get another when Christoph Kramer found Raffael who sealed the points. It's a win that certainly sends a message to Bayer Leverkusen in the race for third and the final automatic Champions League place.

As for Bayern well they knew going into the match that second placed Wolfsburg had only managed a draw at Mainz earlier in the day, they had to come from behind too after Niko Bungert had given the home side the lead. Both teams struck the frame of the goal before this corner from Kevin de Bruyne eventually found Luiz Gustavo who levelled. How they might rue not getting another though as the gap is now 10 points with eight games to play.
