Stuart Lancaster describes the loss to Ireland as "small margins and big consequences as England gear up to put things right against Scotland.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (English) Stuart Lancaster, England head coach (on what went wrong in the match with Ireland)

"I think it was small margins and big consequences that game and that unfortunately was the decisive factor in the game so whilst we dissected it as we do every game, there were ultimately a lot of things that we did right as well and certainly in the last twenty minutes as we gathered momentum. So there were definitely lessons to be learnt and I think that the players appreciated that and have taken them on board. They're a very honest group and it isn't about September (the World Cup) it's about Saturday because I know that Scotland are going to come with a very difficult game plan that is going to be hard to break down. They're a very good defensive team. Much improved under Vern Cotter. So I won't be looking at September, I'll be looking at Saturday."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Stuart Lancaster, England head coach (on what he expects from Scotland)

"I think Scotland will probably look at that game (against Ireland) and will probably look to challenge us in the same areas. Clearly, Finn Russell and Stuart Hogg are their key strike runners. They're very good at the breakdown and a big, hard, aggressive pack that will need breaking down in the set-piece. Across the board, you can see the way they've shifted their attacking emphasis. They've still got the same defence coach but their far more defensively secure and of the three games that they've played recently, and the New Zealand game (in November) it's been a one score margin. So this isn't a team that is struggling in my opinion at all. I think that they'll be a real handful on Saturday."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Stuart Lancaster, England head coach (On what Courtney Lawes bring to the pack)

"I think that there's the collective level of experience that we've brought in, not just with Courtney but with Geoff Parling on the bench too. Obviously leading into the Six Nations we had quite a lot of injuries in the second row at one time and I think Dave Atwood and George Kruis have done a brilliant job and obviously we had Nick (easter) on the bench. But I think having those three experienced second rows now in the side. Geoff has obviously come on but Courtney was fantastic for us in the November internationals. His presence around the field but also his presence in the set piece is big for us."
