Alan Pardew's move from Newcastle to Crystal Palace has been delayed by paperwork, according to caretaker boss Keith Millen. Millen says Pardew, 53, is helping to prepare the team for Sunday's FA Cup third round tie against Conference side Dover Athletic.

SOUNDBITE (English) Keith Millen, Crystal Palace caretaker manager:

"They are still talking at the moment. There is no problems at all - Alan (Pardew) was at the training ground this morning, we've had a staff meeting, we've spoken about a number of things. He has spoke to the players, we've had training and then the people there and the lawyers and that are just finalising the contract I think. So there is no issues it's just the timing is taking a bit longer than expected."

Q: It's nothing to do with bringing in other backroom staff or anything like that?

"No. No, there is no issues with staff. It's just the paperwork."

SOUNDBITE (English) Keith Millen, Crystal Palace caretaker manager:

"I'm sure he will be taking the game, so hopefully they'll be looking to do an announcement tomorrow but we said that yesterday, so I can't give you a timescale on it. But certainly preparing for Alan to take the team and training tomorrow."

Q: And will he pick the side for the Dover game?

"We've spoke about it. We have gone through the squad. Obviously he is learning a lot about the players, he saw them yesterday and he is really pleased with what he saw. So we have gone through the squad, there is a few little knocks but in general he will pick the team and obviously he has asked us for our opinions but it will be his team that he picks."
