Intro:
Reaction after Liverpool and Leicester City draw 2-2 in the English Premier League on Thursday (1st January).
Script:
SOUNDBITE: (English) Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers (on losing a 2-0 lead);
"We're obviously disappointed at being 2-0 up and conceding the goals that we did. Really poor goals, giving the ball away so cheaply and then not defending well enough when you're getting shots that are scored outside the box so, overall, a little bit of frustration but I can't be too unhappy because I didn't think we played well enough to merit a win, to be honest."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers (on the performance of Leicester City):
"They played well. Let's give them credit as well. I think it shows you how the league is. It's a very unforgiving league. Leicester are bottom of the table but absolutely played really well today. For us, I am proud of the team over this busy period. That's the other side of it. We got seven points out of nine. We should, at 2-0 up, even playing as poorly as we did, should have closed that out, but we didn't."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Leicester coach Nigel Pearson (about the penalties awarded against Leicester)
"It's going to fuel the debate again about the use of technology I feel. We've got the benefit of being able to see it within a few seconds and know exactly what happened and it's unfortunate. It's unfortunate to have to deal with two occasions like that in the first half."
