  • Intro:

Western Sydney Wanderers and the Central Coast Mariners drew 0-0 in the Australian A-League on Thursday (1st January).

    Script:

To say that the Western Sydney Wanderers have had a disappointing start to the A-League season is somewhat of an understatement.

Tony Popovic and his side are yet to win a league game having been runners up in the last two seasons, not to mention Asian Champions League winners last year.

The Central Coast Mariners haven't fared much better and started the game five points off the bottom side Wanderers.

Central Coast had the best of the early chances. Eddy Bosnar going close in the 34th minute.

The best chance of the first half fell to Sydney, Nikita Rukavystsya should of finished this off just before the interval.

It was all the Wanderers in the second half, yet this Antony Golec effort was as close as the came to a first win of the season.

The scoreless draw means, Sydney remain bottom on four points from 11 games. While Central are two places above in 8th.
