SOUNDBITE: (English) Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool manager:

"My first look is always within. We've seen how we've adapted the team and the structure of the team in order to make that work and I still think we've got players that can do that for us. There won't be much activity for us, in January. We brought in a lot of players (in the summer) that we feel could develop over the course of the summer and those players are now starting to adapt to the life here at Liverpool and our way of working. There won't be a lot of transfer activity from us, if any over the course of the January period. I think it's one where my job is to coach and manage the players that are currently here and work hard at maximising that talent they have. So that's what we'll look to do."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool manager:

"I don't think it is a good time to spend. If you look (at) last year we never brought anyone in, last year. My job is to coach the players we brought in, to manage them. If there is something available...

the beauty of our owners here is they'll always back what it is we want to do. And if there was something there we felt would improve us for the short term and longer term then we would pretty much do that. But, as I said, I'm happy with how the group is progressing."
