'No excuses for Sunderland' - Poyet

Wednesday, December 31 2014 by SNTV
  • Intro:

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet previews their Premier League game at Manchester City on New Year's Day.

    Script:

    SOUNDBITE: (English), Gus Poyet:
"Now, how many times are they going to draw at home? You never know, but two in a row - difficult - but we need to try. I think that it is one of those games that we need to go there and try to be very good. Try your best to be spot on. We need to be quick, we need to be smart, we need to be organised, we need to be concentrated. You need to do plenty of things very, very good. It's like when you go to a final nearly. Now you will say to me, 'you wish every game that'. Yeah - but it's impossible, especially when you play every five minutes. You got too many games to be at that level all the time. Now we have three or four days to recover, so I think there is no excuses."

SOUNDBITE: (English), Gus Poyet (on transfer market):
"It's not like there is whatever you want - a goalkeeper and there is twenty, so every single team can buy a goalkeeper. The striker, everybody is looking for a striker - special, cheap, nice looking. Have to have everything really and there is not many. And that's a problem."
