SOUNDBITE: (English) John Carver, Newcastle United assistant manager: (Question: how is Alan (Pardew) after match?
"No he is fine yeah, he is delighted. It is a fantastic result for us you know. I mean we have gone on a run of games where we have not won and we have had a difficult period against difficult opposition and again another good opposition today. But we have actually set about them, like I say, take away that five minutes and he has been pleased with the performance. I think it has probably been one of our best performances in recent times."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Roberto Martinez, Everton boss:
"Well I thought we started really really well. Everything that we wanted top get out of the start of the game we had it. I thought we were really threatening and we scored a good goal from open play. I felt that we looked like a team that we were going to get the second and probably take the game. That was how comfortable it looked. Obviously we had a period that you expect Newcastle to put the ball in the box and just try to hope for some pressure and I don't think in that period we should concede. That's a disappointment we concede from a second phase corner, a dead ball situation and that's a cheap way to give a lot of hard work away to be reflected in the scoreline."
