    Roberto Martinez, Everton coach:
    (On the match)
"Anything that could of gone in our way, nothing went in our favour. It was a tough afternoon from that point of view. Tim Howard and Phil Jagielka picking up injuries that had to come off at half-time that disrupted a little bit the fluency in the second half. But we created enough chances once we conceded the goal to at least get back into the game and force Stoke to have a different performance. They had no shots on target in the second half, it means they were going to be well set, well disciplined. We found it quite hard to get clear opportunities."

    Mark Hughes, Stoke City coach:
    (On goalscorer Bojan Krkic's performance)
"It wasn't a wet Tuesday night in Stoke, but it was a wet Friday night was it? It's an old cliche, it's a label that if they see any weakness in Bojan's play or attitude they'll say that he's not quite right for the English game. In a short space of time he's been here he's knocked all those thoughts on their heads. He's an exceptional professional, he works really hard every single day to get better as a player and as a consequence he'll get the rewards for that and so will we."
